Navigating the Airport
Step-by-Step Guide
Once your plane lands, you will enter either Terminal A or Terminal B. Both follow the exact same flow. Here is exactly what to expect:
Pass Through Immigration
Follow the signs to Migración (Immigration). Have your passport, physical or digital E-Ticket QR code, and flight details ready. The lines can move quickly, but expect a wait during peak arrival hours.
Collect Your Luggage
Once through immigration, walk into the baggage claim area. Check the overhead monitors to find the carousel assigned to your flight number and gather your bags.
Clear Customs
With your bags in hand, you will pass through Aduana (Customs). Most travelers are given a green light to walk straight through, but you may be selected for a quick, routine bag scan.
Crucial Tip
Beware of the "Shark Tank"
Immediately after clearing customs and before you reach the outdoor exit, you will walk through a specific indoor hallway often called the "Shark Tank."
This is an area filled with dozens of high-energy representatives offering timeshare presentations, excursions, and "cheap" taxi rides. They can be incredibly convincing and often act like they are your official resort shuttle drivers.
What to do: Do not stop to talk to anyone in this indoor hallway. Smile, say "No, gracias," and keep walking straight through the sliding glass doors to the outside air. Your actual transportation company will only be waiting for you outside the building.

Finding Your Ride Outside
Once you step completely outside the airport into the fresh air, the atmosphere opens up:
- Look for the Signs You will see a massive crowd of drivers holding up signs. If you pre-booked a private transfer or shared shuttle, look for the specific company logo or a sign with your name on it.
- Grab a Drink There are outdoor bars right outside the terminal exits. If you have to wait a few minutes for your ride to pull up, feel free to grab a cold Presidente beer or a water to kick off the trip!
- Head to the Resort Once you're loaded into your vehicle, it's a smooth, 25-minute highway drive straight to the Hard Rock gates.
